Belphegor play black and death metal at full speed and make no secret of their anti-religious stance, and they have stuck to that line without compromise for more than thirty years. At the center of the band from Salzburg is guitarist and singer Helmuth, who founded it in the early nineties and has kept it going through many lineup changes. Records such as «Pestapokalypse VI» and «Bondage Goat Zombie» made Belphegor a fixture of European extreme metal. Their 13th album is finished and due in early 2027, so the set might already include some new songs. Few bands from Austria have stayed this extreme for this long.
